Graduation Season: Time to Celebrate and Support!

RUT MIIT

It’s that exciting time of the year—graduation season! I absolutely love this time of year.

But I had a conversation with a graduate earlier this week that made me think we can all be just a bit more encouraging and inspiring to the class of 2024 and beyond. So from now on, I am trying this approach:

First, I am going to simply say congratulations! 🎉 Graduating is no small feat, and that’s especially true considering the rollercoaster ride the last few years have been. Our graduates have shown resilience and determination. So, to every graduate, well done on this incredible achievement!

Next, I encourage everyone around a graduate to simply ask, ‘What’s next for you?’ It’s important NOT to assume that everyone has the next steps all figured out—whether that's college, a career, or something entirely different. Instead, let’s open up a dialogue about the future and remember, it’s okay not to have all the answers right now.

And perhaps most importantly, let’s ask how we can help. Whether it’s connecting graduates to opportunities, expanding their networks, or simply offering advice, never underestimate the impact you can have.
